Outside-In: Flora In Studio

Taking pictures of flowers & plants outdors is great fun, but bringing them inside allows for some manipulations that otherwise wouldn't be possible. In particular it allows me to play around with different lights & backdrops. Here are a few examples. Some of them were lit with such exotic items as maglites, and reflective gift bags for backdrops!

Small Sins

Live @ The Capitol Center, North Bay, Ontario, Canada. March 11th, 2008
These guys were the opening act for the Finger Eleven concert, and I've been in love with them ever since! I'd actually heard one of their songs on my Sirius radio a while back, and loved it, though I didn't realize it was by the Small Sins until they played it during the show! One of those rare bands that sound as good on CD as they do live!

Torngat - Decemeber 8, 2007

It was the impromptu last stop on their Cross-Canada tour. A snowy night in South River at the very intimate Renee's Cafe. So intimate in fact that Pietro Amato was both 'on stage' and sitting at the head of our table...
The performance was mind-blowing...an auditory soundscape that transported the audience and I to new worlds where music and images blended together to form a new & beautiful language...
Certainly the best part of this show was the after-party at 'The Northern Edge Algonquin' where we played crokinole late into the night...Grooving to the sounds of vinyl records, drum circles, and singing bowls...

Tokyo Police Club

Live @ The Wall, North Bay, Ontario, Canada - January 24th, 2008
Finally a band I really love in North Bay! Certainly one of my favourites, it was truly a treat to see them here in town. The shows was excellent....very high-energy and a tight performance by TPC.

Aikido

My other passion in life, when I'm not shooting photos. Of course, that being said, it is a favourite photography subject of mine. Fast action and spinning bodies make for challenging work, but as you can see, it is worth the effort...
Derived from the samurai fighting art of Aikijutsu of ancient Japan, Aikido is termed the “Modern Martial Art” because it places an emphasis on the development of harmony and cooperation rather than competition and the violent subduing of opponents. Aikido translates as “the way of harmony with the universe”.

Vicky & Pierre

If I had to describe 'joie de vivre' I would point you to this couple! Together for MANY years, they finally decided to officially tie the knot...
